A team from Yorkshire-based accountancy firm Kirk Newsholme recently spent a day volunteering with Leeds North and West Foodbank, helping to support local families in need.
The volunteers assisted with sorting, packing and boxing more than 60 meal boxes, which were later distributed to households across Leeds. The initiative forms part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.
Leeds North and West Foodbank provides vital assistance to people living below the poverty line, offering not only emergency food parcels but also guidance and access to financial resources to help address the underlying causes of hardship.
A spokesperson from Kirk Newsholme said: “It was incredibly rewarding to see the impact of the Foodbank’s work first-hand. The team does so much more than just provide food – they offer real support and hope to families going through difficult times. We’re proud to have played a small part in helping them continue their vital work.”
The firm also extended thanks to Michelle, Stephen and Spike from the Foodbank team for taking time to explain the process and the difference the service makes to the lives of those who rely on it.
