Anderson Barrowcliff strengthens leadership team with new Partner appointment

Teesside-based chartered accountancy firm Anderson Barrowcliff is pleased to announce the promotion of Luke Hopkins to Partner, marking an important milestone in the firm’s ongoing growth and long‑term succession strategy.

Luke joined Anderson Barrowcliff in 2016, following an early career in industry with a particular focus on the construction sector. Over the past decade, he has become a key part of the firm, progressing through a range of roles and building strong, trusted relationships with clients across multiple sectors.

Initially specialising in management accounting, Luke has more recently played a key role in the firm’s expanding corporate finance offering. His expertise in guiding clients through complex transactions and his ability to develop meaningful advisory relationships have become defining strengths.

Luke’s appointment reflects Anderson Barrowcliff’s long-standing commitment to developing talent from within and investing in individuals who demonstrate leadership, ambition, and dedication to the future of the business.

Andrew Dewing, Partner at Anderson Barrowcliff, commented:
“We are incredibly proud to welcome Luke to the partnership. Throughout his time with us he has consistently shown strong leadership, a proactive approach, and a willingness to take responsibility while supporting those around him.

Leadership is about more than technical skill, it’s about guiding people, embracing challenges, and helping move the business forward. Luke has demonstrated all of these qualities time and time again.”

Luke’s promotion comes exactly ten years to the day since he joined the firm and coincides with it being ten years since the last partner appointment, marking a significant step on the firm’s succession path. By expanding the partnership group, the firm reinforces its commitment to long‑term sustainability and positions itself for its next phase of development.

Andrew added:
“Helen and James joined the partnership ten years ago, and Luke’s appointment represents the next step in our evolution. We have always believed in nurturing talent from within and creating genuine career opportunities for those who want to build their future here. Strengthening the leadership team ensures we continue to grow while preserving the culture and values that define Anderson Barrowcliff.”

The firm has built a strong reputation across the North East and wider UK for its support of ambitious businesses, particularly those seeking strategic financial and corporate advice.

For Luke, becoming a partner marks the continuation of a career shaped by the firm’s open, supportive culture and flexible approach to professional development.

He said: “One of the things that stood out to me from day one was the culture. There are no rigid Structures, people are encouraged to grow in ways that suit their strengths and take on new opportunities.

Becoming a partner feels like a natural progression, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the firm’s continued growth while supporting our clients and colleagues.”

With an expanded leadership team, Anderson Barrowcliff is well positioned to build on its strong foundations and continue supporting businesses across Teesside and the wider region.
