EY has strengthened its Yorkshire leadership team with the promotion of Cara Clancy to partner within the firm’s audit practice.
Clancy has spent more than 16 years with EY, having started her career as a graduate in the firm’s Leeds office in 2009.
During her career, she has worked with a wide range of audit clients and developed particular expertise across the construction and real estate sectors. Her experience includes advising listed and privately owned businesses operating across Yorkshire.
Clancy studied psychology at the University of York before beginning her career with EY and has continued to live and work in the region. She has also completed a number of client and internal secondments, broadening her experience by supporting organisations across the North of England and London.
Her promotion reflects EY’s continued investment in its Yorkshire operation as the firm responds to demand from businesses across the region.
It also demonstrates the importance of developing and retaining senior accountancy talent within Yorkshire. Having progressed from graduate to partner in the Leeds office, Clancy’s appointment provides another example of the long-term career opportunities available within the region’s professional services sector.
The promotion comes as accountancy and advisory firms continue to invest in specialist expertise, particularly in sectors such as construction and property, where businesses are navigating changing economic conditions, funding pressures and increased regulatory demands.
