ACCA Qualification Changes: What Employers Need to Know

The ACCA is introducing changes to its professional qualification, reflecting a broader shift in the skills required of finance professionals. Greater emphasis is being placed on applied capability, digital understanding, and professional behaviours aligned with modern business environments.

For employers, these developments are expected to have implications for how finance talent is recruited, trained and retained — particularly as organisations look to align development pathways with evolving industry expectations.

To support employers in understanding the changes, ACCA is delivering a series of regional roadshows in partnership with First Intuition.

One such event will take place in Sheffield this summer:

ACCA & First Intuition Breakfast Roadshow
First Intuition Sheffield, Floor 10, 18 Hawley Street, Sheffield, S1 4WP
Thursday, 18 June 2026
8:30 am – 10:30 am

ACCA Roadshow 2

The session will provide an overview of the future ACCA qualification structure, alongside updates on recent developments and insight into how the changes may affect both current and future trainees.

Discussion will also cover delivery approaches and the practical considerations for employers adapting to the revised framework.

In addition, attendees will hear from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority on developments within the regional funding landscape, including potential opportunities across Yorkshire and the Humber.

The event forms part of a wider effort to ensure employers are informed ahead of the changes and able to plan accordingly.
