Yorkshire accountancy firm Simpson Wood has been shortlisted for two awards in the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards — Managing Partner of the Year and the Private Client Award.
Managing Director of Simpson Wood, Daniel McAllister, said: “I’m delighted that the firm has been recognised in this way by the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards and personally humbled at being shortlisted for Managing Partner of the Year. We’re grateful to the judges for all their hard work so far and we’re really looking forward to the awards’ event in February.”
The Yorkshire Accountancy Awards are a prestigious annual celebration of Yorkshire’s most outstanding accountancy firms, recognising those that have consistently shown excellence in their fields. The independent panel of judges this year includes Derek Blair, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and Graham Batty, President of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). In announcing the shortlist, the judges highlighted the challenge of selecting finalists, given the high standard across the board.
“We’re really honoured to be included as finalists in two of the awards this year,” said Simpson Wood’s MD, Daniel McAllister. “I’m particularly pleased that we’re a finalist for the Private Client Award, as it highlights how the strong team we have across all areas of accountancy, tax and wealth management work so well together to get the best outcome for our clients.”
Simpson Wood is an independent accountancy, tax and financial services firm based in Huddersfield and Leeds. Part of the Yorkshire business community for almost 150 years, the firm was founded by Fred Lockwood in Moldgreen in 1880 and moved to Bank Chambers, Market Street, in 1913. The building was once home to the Huddersfield Stock Exchange, and Simpson Wood continues to operate from these premises today, with its history woven into the story of Yorkshire.
The winners of the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards will be announced at a black-tie event at New Dock Hall in Leeds on 26 February 2026.
